Glad to hear you got it working out.

Your heaven is still not quite delightful.
Wait until you get it running in SL 10.6.4 with the proper kernel.

    You're welcome. Well done job!
As for your question, your system hardware is fairly recent. It came out way after the 10.5.x release, hence there is less supporting for it.

SL is faster, better OS in term of utilizing multiple CPU's and RAM capacity. By Apple claim about the OS's, SL is at least 20% faster than Leopard

As far as OSX86 concerned, the kernel, OS system core, is not much modified for Leopard for AMD system, but for SL, it's much better.
This conclusion is after some testings with my AMD system, overclocking and running both 10.5.8 and 10.6.4, updating directly using Apple software updater,
and also benchmarking with Geekbench software for both Leopard and Snow Leopard in 32 bit mode.

Whats a good way to get 10.6.4 running? I'm scared to do it because of all the trouble I had doing this one, but I know it was just my hardware. I can't even imagine a 20% speed increase this computer loaded pro tools in 10 seconds flat with all my plugins. My PC takes a good 2-3 minutes to load pro tools with all my plugins. mind blowing.

Of course, Unix based is more efficient.
The apple claim doesn't mean every little thing would be faster. Better running OS is not necessarily equating to faster loading softwares every time, but under heavy demanding/specialized applications, you would see the difference.

There are methods to install SL, but if you think it's difficult then you should just stay with Leopard.

i might upgrade 1 day but maybe after I learn leopard, I'm still getting used to the computer. I used it for a good 8 - 10 hours today mixing / recording music with tons of plugins and load on the cpu. worked great.
