Before the root device message, it says "waiting on <dict ID="0"><key>IOProviderCLass</key><string ID="1">IOResources<\string><key>IOResourceMatch<\k ey><string ID="2">boot-uuid-media</string></dict>

Sorry i meant all backslashes, I'm on an iPhone cuz my Dell hack refuses to load safari, keeps crashing.
If you successfully make it through installation then mostly it should run IF your customization is correct.

It looks like the IDE kext is not selected. Per my earlier post, put the install DVD back in, proceed installation to see what kext is loaded for IDE and then only make that selection and continue.

It picks up the appleNForceATA. However, there is also problem with your DVD media.
You can try that kext/driver and see what happens. There are only a few of them in the ATA/IDE drivers.

You could try, if applicable, to disable Lan, audio, Legacy USB, USB keyboard/mouse. Repair disk permission before reboot.
Come close but OSX still is not happy.

ok its in mac os x !!! have sound also. . have no video or network though. i installed the same nvidia general drivers onto it that i loaded onto my Dell, and still no video, however, the keyboard seems to be going crazy... looks like the 'left' arrow "button" is depressed, not letting me select any menus or anything.

about the video driver... is a geforce 7950GT PCI-E 512MB out of the question for OS X?

    You got it. Good job
How did you get it through the last error?
As for your kb/mouse, did you select VoodooPS2? Could be video related too. Uninstalled the video kext that is not working first though. You could use its VESA mode temporarily until getting a kext for it.
I know kexts for NV 8/9xxx series, but for 7xxx would need some searching.
Have you try using USB kb/mouse to see.

and as for the last error, i just let it sit there.
