Default Installing iDeneb 1.4 (10.5.6) onto laptop external USB hard drive

    Hi guys,

I'm new to this so would like a few answers before i jump in with both feet.

I've read the tutorial showing how to do the install to onto USB external drive. I'm wanting to do the same setup ie laptop (Acer Aspire running Vista, iDeneb on external drive) but the only thing i haven't manage to find answered is - Will this effect the MBR of the laptops internal hard drive?

As a few months back i installed Ubuntu 10.04 to an USB flash drive and then Vista wouldn't boot as the GRUB loader wouldn't work unless the drive was plugged in. And as Acer laptop didn't ship with a Vista install disc the laptop was as good as brick. Luckily a friend fixed it with his Vista disc.

Secondly if iDeneb does install on external drive without effect the laptops internal hard drive or startup. Will the external drive work in any intel based pc or just the laptop used for the install?

It's fine to install to ext. USB.
Should be able to start up without ext drive, or with Chameleon boot loader from ext drive invoking NTloader to boot Vista, IF you install Chameleon/bootloader correctly.
