I have been using MAC for a while now in my iMac and MBP. Having using them, I prefer the OS compared to my windows and would like to have the OS on my Thinkpad X61. I tried installing both with default option (as little as patches possible) and the result is not positive at all.

iATKOS v7 -> Boot-up with stuttering sound, Keyboard and Trackpoint doesn't work at all

iDeneb v10.5.6/7 -> looping blank screen during boot-up.

I guess the issue is that I don't know what patches are needed and what are NOT needed. Anyone has installed one for Thinkpad X60/X61 or T60/61?

The spec of my laptop is:
T7500(2.2GHz), 4GB RAM, 320GB 5400rpm HD, 12.1in 1024x768 LCD, Intel X3100, Intel 802.11abg wireless, Sierra 3G WWAN, Bluetooth, Modem, Intel 1Gb Ethernet, Secure chip, 8c Li-Ion
