    Default Installing dmgs

I wanted to download VLC for mac, and it would download, but after it verified it, it asked to hold the power button but I can't do it since it's not a mac... It just dims out, and the only thing to do is hold down the power button. When it comes back up, it still doesn't load because it was a hard reboot. Is there any way to get around this... Please help.. I need to install some programs but I can't do it since I get this error...

Its not exactly a kernel panic. It's asking me to press the power button. The screens dims out slightly I can't do anything. The picture that comes up is a power button screen.... That's what I'm getting...
