Default Installed Leopard from CD to Dell Laptop

I just installed Leopard from a install cd, I fist used disk utility and erased the hdd. I then installed on the now blank hdd. The install went fine. It rebooted, worked as normal until it got to the "grey apple screen" with the swirl. It has been stuck there for the past hour. So I rebooted and it is there again. The swirl is animated. What is wrong and what can I do?

In darwin type -v and post your error or take a photo, posting your specs can help too, good luck

Latitude X300 Laptop Specs I think are relevant:
    Intel Pentium M at 1.2GHz
    1db DDR SDRAM at 266MHz
    Intel 855GM Chipset
    12.1" XGA TFT LCD
    30GB EIDE/ATA-100

PDF if you need anymore: http://www.itcsales.co.uk/acatalog/D...it_x300_uk.pdf

When I enter that in darwin it locks up again at a line (I class it as a "lock-up" after 10 minutes).
I will get you the line and any errors I spot in Darwin in a minute.

    Does anyone else any ideas?

well checking your specs, you need a patched kernel, like speedstep or modbin, maybe thats the main problem

Ok try this now, go to the BIOS and Disable Onboard stuff like, Audio, LAN, etc. Keep trying with speedstep or modbin, if nothing work, try another distro, like kalyway or leo4all
