Hello, I have an acer aspire one 532h and yesterday I formatted the hardrive installed iatkos v7 with success and then attempted to update to 10.5.8 via the apple websites 10.5.8 combo .dmg following this tutorial in the middle of the update I got a kernel panic and then I rebooted by following the instructions in the tutorial
"1.Boot in to single user mode (-s)
2.rm -rf /System/Library/Extensions
3.rm -rf /System/Library/Extensions.mkext
4.cp -rf /System/Library/Extensions.backup /System/Library/Extensions
5.reboot with -f flag. You're back in 10.5.7!"
problem is when i reboot with -f flag I get the apple logo with an endless spinning wheel.
What should I do now?

It would be better to install SL instead of Leopard, as it's faster and there are Atom kernels available for your hardware configuration, up to 10.6.4.
But for that problem, boot with -v for error message.

What a coincidence the threads for this netbook start coming out! My advice would be to re-install with v7 and do not update! This machine seems to be very bad at getting kernal panics with any update. I am not sure what this is.

My question is, what did you all get working with v7? I couldn't even get my resolution working with v5, nor did many of the basic functions of the netbook.

If you are interested in trying out Snow Leopard, you can get a good majority of the stuff working natively if you use the guide I just typed up an hour ago.
