What distro are you trying to install? How did you customize? did you try to boot using one core? did you install with AHCI SATA Support?

The AHCI should be enable it on the BIOS, also enable XD BIT, with your processor you should install Vanilla Kernel

Ah I see, IDE... may sure its set as Master, and your DVD Drive as Slave, with the jumper not cable select, and if you can, put them in different ide cables and try again... if kalyway seems not to be working, try with another one.

Hi,
I am having exactly the same problem too, using Kalyway 10.5.2 distro. Installed using default options.
Here are my specs:
Intel E7200 Core2Duo Processor @ 2.53 Ghz
XFX nForce 6 motherboard
2 GB Kingston 800Mhz System RAM
160 GB Hitachi SATA HDD
I have enabled AHCI in BIOS, but still i cant get it to work. The hard disk drive is connected as 4th SATA.
This is my third install with no luck.
Any help is appreciated.
Thanks and Regards.
