You seem to know what your talking about, go ahead and use a partitioning tool (use google to find a bootable disk like ultimate boot cd, or a restore disk), create two Fat32 partitions. Format and save, then startup with your mac distro I suggest iDeneb, iPC, or Kalyway latest 10.5.6, and format the one fat32 partition you prefer whichever is fine with Mac Journaled partition. Leave the other fat32 partition intact for your windows install.
But other then the two partitions everything should work, if you need help installing dual boot, just look it up on google and ask here if you need further refining of that help. I like to use chameleon to dual boot, its so simple. Also I suggest you consider the option of using only mac, and virtual box to virtualize windows xp, vista, or 7 beta. It is just as fast, easier, expandable, and fully customizable w/ seamless intergration meaning you can run windows programs infront of or behind mac programs.
Good luck!

Hi! In my experience iLife will not work with yourchipset, the intel GM4500.
You need quartz extreme in order to use progs like DVD player, Chess, etc.
I have a HP laptop with the same chipset, and although you can find a kext to change resolutions to acceptable levels, you will not be able to use iLife nor iWork. This display chip was never used by Apple and altough it works in Linux, I have never come across ANYONE getting QE on the 4500.
To change resolutions fromthe default 1024x768 go to Kexts.com and you can download a kext that will enable higher resoutions, but not QE.
