Default iDeneb 1.4 ACPI problem (i think)

    hi,

i tried Kalyway, iAtkos, iPC and iDeneb... the only 2 the got to the install screen were iDeneb and iAtkos (but iAtkos crashed while installing).

i managed to get iDeneb 1.4 to install, but it hangs right after boot up, not matter what i try. -f, -x, cpus=1 ... none is helping. the computer doesn't even get to single user mode.

    this is what i get:

i tried all different ACPI configurations but it doesn't seem to work... anybody an idea? could it be something else than the ACPI?

    system:
    E1400 Dual Core Celeron 2Ghz
Mainboard: ECS/Elitgroup GF7100PVT-M3 with gforce 7100 and nforce 630i chipset
    1gb ddr2 ram
    maxtor 120gb hdd

    thanks!

yes, acpi is enabled, i tried all different settings. s1, s3 and auto, but it just doesn't work. i tried the sata configuration on ahci and sata, but that doesn't make a difference either.

    i'm really getting frustrated...

the thing is, when i launch the boot dvd in verbose mode, it gives the same error message (2 dependencies -> use only one style), but it keeps booting. thats why i'm thinking if it may be something else.

    any help is highly appreciated!

    hi,

well, it isn't running yet, but i managed to get rid of the ACPI error message with voodoo kernel and acpi_fix.

so ACPI can't be the problem.

i found this thread, which is very helpful for anyone with a nforce chipset.

i've narrowed it down to a DSDT problem. which is fun, because until yesterday i didn't even know what DSDT was

now i have to find a way to apply this patch.

or i decide to be brave enough to apply the patch for my biosi found here.

    take care

something went wrong and now the mainboard is gone.

i'll put that project aside for now.

Sorry to hijack your thread hondosan(and sorry for your board too)but i m in a similar situation.
I cant get past the same screen after the install with the only difference that mine reads

using 16384 buffer headers and 4096 cluster IO buffer headers

No idea what does that difference mean, just posting it in case it helps someone to figure this out.
Enabled ACPI which dint make any difference, stuck in the same screen.
iAmBeer your help would be great cause we have similar hardware.

Try fassl dsdt patcher, if no luck then I'll edit your bios.

If you need more info just ask, or search for osx dsdt gui patcher

Ι did a little search last night and i got fassl dsdt patcher thinking that its also for windows since i m on a pc.
So i tried a windows patcher that i got following your sig, from here.I tried beta5 but there re some options i dont get.Example i have no idea whats the hardware location for my nvidia 8800 gts or the hardware location for my onboard network card. And i m supposed to check ioreg for that info, but since i m on windows,no luck again.Should i just leave it blank? Will it be ok?
I wanna at least have the right options checked before flashing a custom bios
    Thanx for your replies!
