iDeneb 1.4 - 10.5.6 Installation
Hey guys, I bet you're sick of these posts but it's driving me mad.
I've got an iDeneb 1.4 - 10.5.6 Installation Disk.
My Setup:
Asus P5k-e/wifi Motherboard (p35 chipset)
Intel Core2 Due E8400 3.00GHz CPU
ATI HD 3850 Video Card
IDE 80GB HDD
IDE DVD-RW
Microsoft Wireless Mouse/Keyboard
What Happens:
I go through the install, go into customize and choose:
HD 3000 series graphics drivers
I've tried most chipsets..which one should it be?
I've tried most kernels.. " ?
Then it installs successfully but on reboot I get the "no smoking" sign or the "please restart" error.
Can anyone tell me which options I need to be selecting for my setup?
Otherwise could it be something else such as requiring ps2 keyboard/sata dvd-rw/etc?
Thanks!
Leigh

Default kernel should work fine, rather than checking any patched kernels. One of the only instances you need to select a different kernel is if you have an AMD chipset; you acknowledged you have an Intel Core 2 Duo, so it's definitely not.
As for your chipset, I'm not sure which you'd select from the list. I wouldn't check one at all myself, but someone might know better than I did.
But, I'm not sure as to why it wouldn't work; most people seem to be having problems with iDeneb v1.4, including myself.

What would you recommend instead of iDeneb?
Al I want is to develop iPhone apps!

I'm hearing so far that even iPC is better, but most everyone suggests Kalyway to start, then replacing that with a Vanilla [Retail] version of Mac OS X via a bootloader, because it can be updated easier.
Unfortunately, I don't understand the tutorial for it because I'm half asleep the past few days...
Retail DVD Guide for Mac OS X - InsanelyMac.com Forums
That's where I read it. It's not complicated, it has a "noob friendly" version, but it's still a lot harder than doing iPC or iDeneb... But it is more likely to work if you figure it out.
At the moment, I just want a simple Mac based computer so I can use GarageBand and actually get to experience using Mac OS X, without having to fork over money I don't even have for an actual Mac computer. D:
