I came here a while ago to get help, and I eventually gave up for the time being. Well, now, I'm back, and I'm trying to get it going again.

I have a DVD with iDeneb 1.3 on it. Whenever I put it into my computer and boot it up, I press F8 and type -v to go into verbose mode. At this point, it can either work or not work. For whatever reason, sometimes, it hangs at this IOAPIC Vectors thing or whatever, or sometimes it keeps going (Although I think I found the pattern to getting it to work).

It eventually boots up, and I can format my partition and yadayadayada, and I choose all of the sound drivers (because I didn't know which one was for my sound card, and I tried checking but I still don't know), all of the ethernet drivers, X11, All the Applications, Atheros wifi adapter, and all of the ATI drivers in my installation (I think that's what it was)

So, I get to the part where the disk is being checked for consistency, and at about 40% it says there's something wrong with the disk and that I should clean it. I did clean it with this really good Scratch Out stuff, and I eventually got the disk to boot up again. It did the same thing as before, except I tried to choose less of the drivers. Would you think there's something wrong with my DVD itself, or am I choosing wrong drivers or something? Thanks!

I'm actually just thinking about getting a new DVD and getting iDeneb 1.4 on it instead (as an installation guide here had).

I have an Acer Aspire 5532, just for the record.
