Default iAtkos v7 on a plain ASUS P6T - the struggle

    Hello ppl!

    The story so far:
Using various combinations of installation guides I've tried to install iAtkos v7 (and iDeneb in previous attempts) on my pc:
    Intel core i7 , asus P6T mobo , nVidia 9800GT.

The first attempts resulted in "waiting for boot device" kind of error, even with the "cpus=1 busratio=20" flags (no quotes).

After some much appreciated help from icchansan, I've modified my Bios according to these settings:
    Change this in your BIOS:
    - Main
    - Storage Configuration
    + Configure SATA as [AHCI]
    - Advanced
    - CPU coonfiguration
    + Intel HT Technology [Disabled]
    + Active Processor Cores [1]
    + A20M [Disabled]
    + everything else [Enabled]
    - Onboard Devices Configuration
    + High Definition Audio [Enabled]
+ Front Panel Audio [HD Audio]
    - Power
    + Suspend Mode [Auto]
+ Repost Video on S3 Resume [Yes]
    + ACPI 2.0 Support [Enabled]
    + ACPI APIC Support [Enabled]
    - APM Configuration
+ Restore on AC Power Loss [Last State]
    - Boot
    - Boot Device Priority
    + 1st Boot Device [ATAPI CD-ROM]
+ 2nd Boot Device [Hard Drive]
and installed (and booted) using the above flags.
this time was the most successful yet, but still no full boot

it passed the "MAC framework successfully initialized" hang up,
it passed the "waiting for boot volume with UUID" hang up,
it even said it found my "E:" NTFS volume,
but after more lines of code I get this error repeated all the time:
    "ACPI_SMC_PlatformPlugin::getCPU_PSSData - _PSS evaluation failed"

that's my state at the moment,
    any suggestions are welcome!

    thanks.

    Ok I will try to help you with iAtkos v7 from a spanish thread, finally my spanish will help someone here lol... hello? nvm =_=;

Boot into your DVD, Press F8 and type:
    busratio=20 -v
1- Select your Language, then go to Disk Utility
2- Select your partiton and erase as Extended Journaled
3- Quit Disk Utility, select your destination
4- Before Install, Customize your Installation, leave everything like that and just select your LAN kexts, go to Network and Select Marvell 88E8056 (if you have PS2 Keyboard or Mouse, Select voodooPS2)
    5- Then Install
6- Uphuck recommend to move the mouse every 2-3 mins.
7- After installation it will reboot, eject your DVD
8- Boot into Leopard for 1st time, wait for Chamelon to show up, press any key to stop chamelon to load Leopard, then type:
    busratio=20 -v
9- After this you should be able to see the welcome video
Now you need to install your video card, follow this mini guide here:
    InsanelyMac Forum > nVidia 9800 GT 1GB DDR3

I assume that we're talking about installing it after the Bios changes, right?
and when you say "leave everything like that" in the customize section, do you mean to leave it on the default selections, or leave it with the selections I have made earlier?

just clarifying so I won't have to reinstall over and over again because of my silly mistakes

    icchansan,
I've installed iAtkos v7 on the modified Bios again, using the customization you've recommended, but when the installation tried to reboot the computer I got a weird kernel panic which didn't let the installation reboot.
I've tried to install again, but I've added IDE & AHCI support, and I got a "still waiting for boot device" error.

I'll try to install retail leopard using the P6T Deluxe guide, but I'll try to search for tweaks regarding the non-deluxe mobo.

Any suggestions on how to burn a boot-able .dmg file under Windows?
I've read people saying macDrive can do it, but I couldn't find how to burn from there, just to explore the file.

    Thanks!

Yeh you need to change your BIOS then install, now check this:

Thank's for the wonderful release. I'm running on a core i7 P6T Deluxe. I have managed lots of successful install using vanilla kernel. I haven't toyed with Voodoo 9.7 yet, but for those who wants to keep vanilla, keep everything as default, add Marvel xxx056 (the second Marvel Ethernet option) and the Intel ICH SATA kext (if you don't want to use AHCI). P6t is using ICH10 and you'll get the root device error if you don't select it.

As for the bios, I have to turn Hyperthreading to disabled, and run 1 core, boot with busratio=20, but as soon as the install is completed, you can turn everything on.
Thats why you get root device, sowwy the spanish guy didnt say that and I forgot about your AHCI change

    icchansan,
thanks for the info and help!

the p6t (non-deluxe) has the "Realtek® 8111C PCIe Gigabit LAN controller featuring AI NET2" instead of the deluxe version that has "Dual Gigabit LAN controllers 2*Marvell88E8056® PCIe Gigabit LAN controller featuring AI NET2".

I shall try to install iAtkos v7 with the Hyperthreading disabled & cores set to 1, and I'll select the Intel ICH SATA kext for the ICH10 issue, I'll try to find the proper LAN driver, and I'll boot with the proper flags... and lets hope for the best

    thanks again

I think I'm doing something wrong here...

At first I didn't notice that the Realtek R1000 is also for the 8111, so I installed it with a different Realtek driver... it didn't work, but I think it's also because of the AHCI SATA (or "Intel ICH SATA kext" as the guy in that thread called it).
I'm not sure I'm selecting the right thing. (I selected Intel sATA/IDE)

I've tried to install it again, and selected the right Realtek, and the Intel sATA/IDE and AHCI... It gave me a kernel panic when trying to restart the computer after install ( http://i27.tinypic.com/214tusk.jpg ) and when I tried to boot from it anyway, it gave me a weird error in yellow colored text ( http://i27.tinypic.com/10e2e6o.jpg ) I've never seen that before.

I'm sure it's some tiny selection in the customize that I've messed up... dunno which, though.

Ok for LAN select R1000 and AHCI, just to fit with your system ;P

Intel Sata thing, works if you dont want to use AHCI, I think if you install this, you have to go back to your bios and set to raid or ide, Not AHCI

Selecting both may cause that error in yellow, so lets try with
LAN select R1000 and AHCI and report back ;D

I installed it using AHCI and I thought it hanged when it got to the Realtek message.
I installed again using the IDE customization (& I added ACPI), and now it boots into osx but says I have no keyboard attached. but it booted after a LONG time after the Reaktek "error", so it might have worked with AHCI as well (?) if I waited long enough.

so I'll try with the same setting as the most recent one but add a ps2 driver.
