iATKOS v7 installation on x40 from usb hdd
Hello,
i want to install iATKOS v7 on my x40 (just for testing, doesn't need to be perfect). Since i don't have an external DVD drive or another mac, i'm trying to boot the iso from my usb hdd.
My setup:
T61 with Ubuntu (but not for long brrr, then arch i think) and DVD drive
X40 (currently arch linux is installed)
USB hdd
So what's the way a beginner should go?
I tried to dd the iso to the USB drive (dd if=iatkos.iso of=/dev/sdb bs=512 also with skip=63) under ubuntu. After making the HFS+ partition bootable (gparted) the USB drive was recognized by my X40 but it only jumps to Grub, which i installed with arch linux. I also tried with Chameleon, but i got only a blinking cursor. I don't need dual boot anyways. I spent days with google but i coudn't find something that works for me, most howtos were for users, that have a Mac and 'diskutils' available.
So what's the way a beginner should go?
Thank you in advance,
3mj
PS: I'm sorry for my bad english.
*UPDATE* I got Chameleon. No i need to know how to boot from a different usb drive!
