Question I finally succeeded in installing Mac OS X86 (iPC v. 10.5.6 ), but there is a problem

    hello everyone...

so I finally succeeded in installing Mac OS X86 (iPC v. 10.5.6 ) and everything looked OK, except my dial-up modem card from Creative, that I couldn't find a patch for it in the list.

so can you help me with that ??
ANOTHER THING : when I reboot the PC I get a "boot error" message, and then I have to re-install iPC again, any fix for that ???

please help me, tell me what to do to avoid that, is there any start up repair for this problem ??? and how to fix it ??? will I need to fix the start up every time I restart my computer ???

    here is my PC specification:

    board: Asus P5KPL-C/1600

    CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 E0 (3.GHz, 6MB, 1333 FSB)

    RAM: 4 GB @ 800 FSB.

    VGA: nVidia GeForce 8500GT ( 1GB ).( PCI EX16)

    Audio: built-in VIA card.

    HDD: Samsung SATA 500 GB @ 7200 RPMs , 16 MB Cache.

and as I said above I connect to the internet by a dial-up modem card by Creative. ( v.92 ) PCI.

so that's all, please I am waiting for your help about both: modem problem and the "boot error" message when everytime I restart the cmputer.

    best regards

    Default Contact Creative for modem

You need to contact Creative to see if there is Modem Driver for your modem for the MAC OS - not here.

You need to boot in safe mode from the Darwin prompt with the -x option. Use -v also so you can see what it is loading and if it does stop in safe mode and where. Then you can try -v -f on another boot to see if it will make it all the way even though I am a UNIX engineer

The MacOS is at it's core - UNIX - you cannot just lump a question in something and throw it here that is non-descriptive as to tell anyone not at your PC what is TRULY going on.

No one can help you if they cannot tell what is really going on - and if you are not ready to learn some UNIX - give up now.

first of all, thank you for this clarification...

but sorry... i am all new to Mac OS X, and I can say that all my concern in Mac OS X has just started, so can you expand abit what do you mean with UNIX???? andy helpful link would be good, and as you are " engineer " as you claim , can you do me a favour and give me the best link??? I know you would say : " google it " and yes... i will google it, but as you are in the " field " of that, you would know what would benefit me much

    best regards
