How to switch kernels?
so all day I've been trying to get a variety of different OSX86 distros to work with my notebook, a Compaq CQ50-106ca.
All of them have been based on the leopard 10.5.6 version.
My important notebook specs are as follows:
AMD turion 2.0ghz dual core, SSE2, SSE3 compatible
3 gb ram
nvidia 8200M G 256mb
I'm mostly just really confused.
(using ideneb) I go into verbose mode, and this comes up
loading Darwin /x86
loading kernel.mach_kernel
loading HFS+ file:[mach_kernel] from 4230450
loading HFS+ file:[mach_kernel] from 4230450
loading drivers: loading from [/system/library/extensios.mkext
and then it just hangs...
Upon what I've found out means that the kernel isn't working with the AMD architecture.
I know it comes with 4 or 5 different kernels, how do I switch it, exactly? can it be done in the installation, or does it have to be patched?
Bear with me here, I'm kind of inexperienced with Unix (besides a simple ubuntu install)

Maybe this distro is not compatible with your system, did you try cpus=1 -v? or try with Kalyway or Leo4all, then in the installation choose a patched kernel like voodoo or speedstep
