I have an HP DV7-3085DX entertainment laptop. I used to have a desktop, and iDeneb worked on it (just to inform I have installed without any issues).

My Issue:
I have downloaded iDeneb, iAtkos and Leo4All, but had hardly any luck with any due to an error "Local APIC Error".

Then I came across a forum post that said to try the following:
-v -f maxmem=2048 cpus=1 noapic

This didn't have any effect on iDeneb or iAtkos, but Leo4All, I thought was going to work perfectly until...

localhost kextd[47]: root filesystem is read-only; skipping kernel link data generation
localhost diskarbitrationd[44]: unable to mount /dev/disk0s1 (status code 0x00000047)
localhost diskarbitrationd[44]: unable to mount /dev/disk0s2 (status code 0x00000047)

About 4 minutes passed, so I hit enter, and a few more lines came up, but I failed to write them down. Has anybody had any luck? I think I read somewhere about a manufacturer lock on the hard drive? It has a 500gb SATA drive and I have been unsuccessful in even downgrading to XP 64-bit.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, will try out ideas that anybody has. Thanks!

Giving Kalyway 10.5.2 a shot, see if anything different happens.

So, the install of Kalyway 10.5.2 went great, no problems. When I restart it, gives me an OCSPD error and hangs. So I searched forums, and found this:

The problen is with the kext driver NVDAResman. You don't want to delete this file or you can't get QE later on.

To get past this problem fallow these steps....

Boot to the command line using: -s

At the command line enter:

mount -o update / *This allows you to modify files*

cd /System/Library

rm Extensions.mkext *removes kext cache*

cd Extensions

mv NVDAResman.kext NVDAResman.back *Renames the problem kext file*

shutdown -h now


Restart your computer and boot with -f

Just remember to rename NVDAResman.back to NVDAResman.kext after you get your videocard setup.

I followed those, and it booted perfectly! So now I know, it's the graphics driver that is causing the issue. The only problem I have now, is I don't know crap about installing drivers, so I am re-installing it and adding in drivers for my network and wireless (crossing fingers that wireless will work), and trying the NVInject instead of NVxxxgo drivers.

I will post more as soon as I know, and if anybody would like, provide a walk-through of how it's done. I am excited! Getting that much closer to a great hackintosh!

So I figure I should make a post about how to atleast get an HP DV7 laptop partially a Hackintosh. More to come as I get stuff done on it.

You will need the Kalyway 10.5.2 DVD ISO.

Note: This is how it goes on my laptop, may be different on yours.

1. Insert the DVD and wait for the bootloader to work it's magic.
2. When the selection comes up, select the DVD and press enter. No extra boot options needed.
3. After a bit, the installer should begin.
4. Once the installer is ready, select Utilities > Disk Management.
5. Partition it out. Mine is a 500GB drive, so I deleted the entire drive's partition table, and created a new one. 2 partitions; 1 300gb labeled OSX, and 1 200gb labeled WIN7. (Going to try to dual-boot at a later point). Make sure GUID is the boot option, and that OSX is Mac Journaled and WIN7 is FAT32.
6. Approve that and close the disk utility.
7. Next your way until you can select the OSX as the install, and click next.
8. Select Customize, and select the following packages:
- KERNEL - kernel_922_modin
- MOBO_CHIPSETS - leave all selected
- PATCHES - All SMBIOS are selected, boot_with_cpus=1_flag selected, PCGenUSB_Fix selected and Intel Memory Controller is selected.
9. Install!

Once the install is complete, boot with the -s command, for single user. Should look like this:

Boot Devices:
1. OSX

Boot Options:
Boot: -s

This will then load you into a "dos-looking" interface. when it comes up, follow the steps in my entry on this page called "Getting Further".

That is all for now, you should have a standard hackintosh going. I have to figure out the audio, network and video drivers. As I have read, the wireless drivers for this laptop do not exist yet. Hopefully that will be soon.

I didn't read your post but I have the same laptop.. I installed VMware and snowLeopard for VMware (virtual machine), I ran it on my win7 ..all is perfect at this moment, google vmware osx or something there is a russian-us package, with all preinstalled... about 6 gigs..
Once all of it are downloaded (the VMware software and the image) in about 5 minutes you are using OSX. I am writing from OSX now.. I just need sound drivers.

Hi I am on Pavilion DV7 ati x1600 I got iatkos v7 working by taping F8 then busratio=20 cpus=1, also i did not install any of the voodoo seatbelt kext it casued a kernal panic on mounting any software to install.

i got iDeneb 1.4 working on my machine just cant ger wireless or ethernet to work
