Hi New Question New Challenge
Hi there i'm new in this Hackintosh scene i found recently and have been atached to it, i have managed to install Tiger in my machine, with all the drivers functioning except for my video card wich is an ATI HD 2400 XT, but everything seemed fine even my airport wich is a ENCORE usb adapter ENUWI-G2 i even downloaded the drivers from their page for 1.4.x and everthing went fine, the problem i have is coming when trying to go beyond and install Leopard, i have tried almost every distro out there Leo4All, iAtkos and finally succeded with iDeneb 1.5.7 BUT with the little inconvinience that i have to put the disc on the drive and enter advance options and type
rd=disk0s1
To make the OS boot, after that, it boots with no problem BUT i have no sound, video seems the same as Tiger (only can use 1024 x 768) and my airport is not working even with the ENCORE drivers for 1.5.X so my questions are
1.-how can i make the instalation boots without having to put the disk everytime i want to boot and typing the rd=disk0s1, and how can i install my audio and airport, the video card i think is not that important since in tiger i managed to even watch youtube videos and other stuff thanks in advance for all the help the professionals at hackintosh here can bring me
i will certainly look forward to been able to use my hackintosh at it's fullest
Here are the specs of my machine
Processor: Intel Pentium 4 HT runing at 3.0 Ghz
Video Card: Ati HD 2400 XT Gygabyte 256 Ram
Mother Board: Intel D915GAV
Airport: Encore ENUWI-G2
Im using a HDD Seagate 40 Gigs and a DD Hitachi LG Both IDE and connected to the only IDE port the Motherboard have as Master and Slave
thanks for the help i really can use a friendly hand here

almost forgott, in case this helps im not using the default kernel that comes with ideneb (vanilla i think?) im selecting another kernel from the install options the 9.X.X XNU i think
because with the default one the machine enters in a loop rebooting never ending cycle, and with the other one if i let the boot goes by itself it get stuck in the message "Still waiting for root device" but enters when i type the rd=disk0s1.

Should work without problem, in some system with HT you have to turn it off in the BIOS or just try to boot with cpus=1
for video check this guide

icchsan thanks for the suggestion, since i'm an expert re instaling iDeneb i already tried the suggestion and disbale the HT in the bios of my mother board, unfortunately this still doesn't fix the "still waiting for root device" i still have to put the disc and type rd=disk0s1 to been able to boot to leopard, hope more like u give me some hints so i can pass that problem, thanks.

Oh well thats not the problem then, you can always make a flag to force your system to boot with rd=disk0s1, I been checking this issue seems like ideneb have this problem, some ppl "fixed" just by using another distro like iPC or iAtkos v7i another thing they said, was to use GUID instead MBR.
Browse to
/Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration/com.apple.Boot.plist
and edit
<key>Kernel Flags</key>
<string>rd=diskXsY</string>
Where X is your hard drive number and Y is the partition number (BSD naming scheme)
In your case
<string>rd=disk0s1</string>
HINT: If you are having difficulty saving changes to com.apple.Boot.plist; Open Terminal and type "sudo nano /Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration/com.apple.Boot.plist" (WITHOUT the quotes.. just copy and paste the text) and press enter. Use the arrow keys to move the cursor. Ctrl+O to save and Ctrl+X to close.
