Default heres some help for acer laptop users

HOW I GOT MY ACER WORKING WITH LEOPARD

My system: Acer Aspire One 8.9.

This is just a quick guide on how I got my acer working, hopefully it will help anyone who is using another acer with specs similar to mine.

    1. Download kalyway 10.5.1

    2. Insert kalyway cd, restart pc, installer comes up, click continue.

    3. goto utilities>disk utility. I did a solo leopard install which requires a guid partition, extended/journaled. For a duel boot, no clue, never tried but its probably mbr.

    4. leave disk utility, continue with the install. Everything should just go right through for you just as if you were installing windows. When it completes, remove the kalyway disk from the drive.

***IMPORTANT If your install appears like its stuck, its not. It will pause 3-4 times during the install, just let it go, it will only stay like that a few minutes each time except for the last time where it just sits for about 10 minutes before it starts moving again.***

    5. Upon restart hit f8 for advanced boot options, and boot into single user mode with -s.

    6. Once command prompt loads, type the following lines:

    fsck -fy

mount -uw / (if you can't tell, there is a space before the / on my monitor I could not see it)

    passwd root
    (now enter a root password)

    touch /var/db/.AppleSetupDone

    exit

step 6 gets you past the welcome screen loop that tormented me. Let your computer restart and you are done! Enjoy! PS, you might get an error message if you restart with your install cd in, remove it if this happens, you might need to completely power down and restart adn then you should be done. Good luck.
