Here's one for you, something new...
I've installed OSX on a few of my PC's and believe it or not, had very little problems from the very beginning. So I'm not a total tard...
Now, I got this HP DV6000 series AMD powered laptop that I'm trying like all hell to get OSX installed on. With about 4 different distros in hand...I'm right back where I started from this morning, which was about 4 hours ago.
I keep getting this message : System Config File '/.com.apple.boot.s/library/preferences/systemconfiguration/com.apple.boot.plist' not found
So it doesn't matter which disk I use, disk that I used to install on other systems and had no issues, only difference being those installs were Intel and not AMD. So what's the deal? I assume someone will say I have to patch a version before I burn it, so if that's the case...where can I find a patch?
And for the record, it just keeps prompting me to hit a key to boot the CD or F8 for options. If I hit anything, I get the above message. If I do nothing, I get the above message and the loop continues.

Well, if anyone is interested...
The HP laptop that I'm installing this on is a DV6409wm with the AMD processor.
By typing in cpus=1 I was able to get it to load up and install. However, I followed another install posted on this forum and didn't pick a bootloader so right now it's not booting up.
So if you're having this problem, try typing in cpus=1 and see what you get.
download boot 123 or Chameleon4 to boot it back up
Correct me if I'm wrong but doesn't most of these modded systems include a bootloader?
I'm attempting to put iDeneb v1.5.1 10.5.7 on and it's got bootloader options which includes Chameleon 2, so shouldn't that boot it?
Right this minute I've got it installed but it's just looping at start up, restarting the laptop over and over. So I'm not sure exactly what's causing that but I'm reading between a few forums and I'm going to attempt to cure the problem sometime tonight.
Oddly enough, that's the only distro I've found so far that will even boot and attempt to install. I probably should sell this laptop and buy something with an Intel processor...or a real Mac.
For those interested, I never got this to fully work and ended up reverting back to Windows. Some have had success with the AMD DV series laptops from HP but I never could get it to go. Also, shortly after reverting back to Windows, the dreaded "no reboot" happened on that laptop as a result of the video chip lifting off the motherboard. A little heat gun action cured that for a few months and then it was the same thing again. So I laid it in the driveway and ran it over with my dumptruck. I bought a Macbook.
