I have iDeneb 10.5.7 running on an HP a1560n (p5lp-le mobo) and I'm currently tweaking it for performance. The firewire is flawless (I'm using the onboard firewire). I installed it twice - the first time it ran beautifully, very snappy. Then I was stupid enough to allow it a software update which crashed the whole deal, wouldn't boot anymore. I have installed it again and it installed an booted perfectly, but seems to be running a bit laggy,.. possibly I made a bad driver choice the second time around. But anyway, try iDeneb 10.5.7 on those HP machines with Asus mobos.
