I hope that this is the correct forum topic to post this in; please redirect me in case I'm wrong, not trying to do anything stupid here.

Anyway, I've been reading the forums for about a month, and I'm familiar with computers in general. I've been trying to install iDeneb 10.5.6, Kalyway 10.6.2 and iPC 10.5.6 distros onto my AMD machine. So far, I've looked around extensively and since I built the PC myself, it's harder to find information on whether or not certain components work.

When I tried iDeneb, it worked up until it would not recognize my internal hard drive (Western Digital Caviar Blue WD5000AAKS 500GB 7200 RPM SATA), but it WOULD recognize my external USB 3.0 hard drive. After formatting my external to Mac OSX Journaled, the install failed instantly and told me to restart.

I tried setting my BIOS to ACHI - kernel panic after I told it to install from the iDeneb and iPC disks. I read that that might solve the problem, but no luck for me.

Kalyway just restarted my system. I don't know what happened there - I barely got a few lines on the kernel and bam, it crashes.

My system specs are here, straight from Newegg:
1 x ASUS M4A87TD EVO AM3 AMD 870 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX AMD Motherboard

1 x Nvidia GEFORCE 460 EVGA Superclocked
1 x COOLER MASTER eXtreme Power Plus RS500-PCARD3-US 500W ATX12V v2.3 Power Supply
1 x IOGEAR GUH285 4-Port USB Hub
1 x AMD Phenom II X6 1075T Thuban 3.0GHz Socket AM3 125W Six-Core Desktop Processor HDT75TFBGRBOX
1 x Kingston HyperX Blu 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model KHX1600C9D3B1K2/4GX
1 x Western Digital Caviar Blue WD5000AAKS 500GB 7200 RPM SATA 3.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive -Bare Drive
1 x ASUS DRW-24B1ST/BLK/B/AS Black SATA 24X DVD Burner - Bulk - OEM

If you can help me, I'd greatly appreciate it. I've gotten iDeneb and I think iPC to run on my HP DV7 before, but I uninstalled it due to video card problems and terrible overheating, due to not being able to find AMD Cool n' Quiet for the chipset.

Additional Information: iDeneb has been my most successful, at least getting to the point where it got to the graphical installer; iPC failed to do this. Also, I did go to "Customize" and choose the AMD patch and the Voodoo kernel, along with the pre-checked iDeneb essentials. It was hard to understand what everything said, though, since it was in terribly broken English.
