    Default Help installing OSX

Ok so i am trying to install OSX on an old PC. i have been trying the iboot method but get stuck at the first step of changing settings in the bios. the settings aren't there or at least, dont seem to be. help would be appreciated! heres some specs...

    pentium 4 processor 2.66GHz
    2GB ram
    gigabyte GA-8IPE1000 prov rev 2
    Asus a9200se
    120GB laptop hard drive SATA.
i also THINK i have only got a single layer dvd drive so im using a modded copy that fits on a SL disk. i do have an original though

i asked for help on another forum but no one seemed to care and my topics were disappearing so i though i would try somewhere else.

by the way, if theres a better install method that someone knows of let me know

    Thanks!
    Chris

It's considered impolite to bump your own thread so often. You should at least wait a few days between bumps.

Such impertinence doesn't endear others to help you.

have you tried Welcome to iATKOS v7 Attention:

1- This DVD is designed for Non-Apple x86 computers. So, do not try to boot it on Apple Hardware!

    Requirements for OSX86:

Minimum: x86 SSE2 CPU, 512MB RAM, 10GB free space on target partition, OpenGL VGA card.

Recommended: Intel Core or AMD x2 CPU, 1GB RAM, 15GB free space on target partition, nVidia 6600 or newer - ATI X1300 or newer - Intel GMA 950 or X3100 VGA card.

Motherboard (the most important part) should be compatible for you to boot iATKOS v7 DVD and install natively.

2- This DVD includes Apple's Mac OS X Leopard 10.5.7 (9J61) installation, some basic drivers and x86 patches.

thanks for the input Liquid_MacOsx. but iAtkos never worked for me on any machine i tried it on. it would just stall at the installing screen and the bar would not progress. i finally managed to get OSX installed on my old desktop and my old man's laptop using the iportable version of OSX. i simply used a USB adapter to copy over the supplied backup file to my HDD and then reconnected the HDD to the computer. it would never boot off of an external HD for me but i didnt want that anyways. only downside with the iportable version is that you require a mac to set it up lol. you probably could do it in windows or whatever but i have very little knowledge of windows OS
