Hi there, i have tried installing iATKOS v5i on my machine a few times now, and it always gets stuck in a reboot loop..
can someone please walk me through what i need to select for my system please?
(bear in mind that i want to install the 10.5.6 update so nothing that will disallow that can be selected in the install customisation menu)

below is a screenshot mashup of my system specifications, if i missed anything out, please tell me and i'll try and get them posted.

I have seen posts detailing chipset names and in depth details, just wondering how do i go about seeing those details so i can post them up here too because i would like to be able to use my ethernet port in mac os x as the wireless adaptor that i have is a little sketchy at best

despite what the above screenshot shows, the graphics card does not have 1.5 GB of ram, it has 512MB don't know why it seems to register as 1.5 gigs :S

Yes, that's exactly what happens, although it seems to flash a white screen up as though the loading screen is trying to load up.
i have booted it up in verbose mode, safe mode, single user mode, you name it, i've tried it,
and it just doesn't want to work for some reason, that's why i'm starting to think i must be doing
something wrong during the installation of iATKOS, ie: selecting 2 conflicting kexts making it not work.

I'm still at a loss as to why it's not working...

did you select a kernel?

yep. sounds like you're going to have to test different kernels.

sounds like no kernel was selected bcuz thats what got me the other day when i tried

Erm... oops that might be the problem, i'll re-install it and report back with my findings.

What kernel would you guys reccommend that will run on an intel system and allow updates from apple?

thats the problem its that specific bootloader that allows the updates to work not the kernel but i say use the voodoo kernel

Also, last time i installed i made sure i selected the EFI v9 bootloader, but when i boot it up it says "Chameleon v *something.something.12*" (not sure what the first 2 numbers are, but the last one is definitely .12, is that good?

yea the bootloader that lets you update thru apple is a modified chameleon bootloader so yea its good
