Help with inspirion 9300 Dell NOOB!!!

i have downloaded and burned to DVD OSx86 but get this error: and can't do much else from that:
system config file '/com.apple.boot. S/Library/Preferences/Systemconfiguration/com/apple.boot.plist' not found

I am a noob!!!

Please post your full specs, and what distro are you trying? no links...

I have an Dell Inspiron 9300 Laptop
it has xp on it currently
Intel Pentium M 1.6ghz
ddr2 ram at 533mhz
ATI mobile
60g
I think this is what I remember
distro?

If you have at least 1gb of ram try with iPC or ideneb, you need to install a patched kernel like voodoo or speedstep, check the official sites of the distro to know the basic and good luck ;D

I don't know which site to search i'm really lost; other than having the mirror of ideneb; computer says it can't find some apple file something and it won't boot.
