Default Hazard Server 10.5.6 on Dell PE 850

    Hello,
I'm trying to install Mac OS X Server on a Dell PowerEdge 850 server and I have some troubles...

iPC 10.5.6 won't boot at all (com.apple.boot.Slist not found at boot loader)
Hazard Server 10.5.6 boot but hangs with "Still waiting for root device" (see the screenshot)

The Dell PE 850 has an IDE DVD-ROM drive, a DRAC4 card which is emulating an IDE DVD-ROM reader, 2 SATA 250 Go RAID1 HDD, two Broadcom nics and an Intel P4 processor

Here is the lspci output on debian lenny:

    Code:

So what can I do in order to install Mac OS X Server on this server ?

I cannot physically change the DVD-ROM or HDDs because of the form factor.

    Thanks for your help.

ok, so install using a usb dvd drive ( the usb lg lightscribe units work great )

you are going to have to take out that raid card, you can make mac os x run in software raid.

    Hello tfrew,
    Thanks for your answer.

Yes the RAID card is in fact the BIOS so I'll configure RAID as JBOD.

I don't have any USB dvd drive, I'll try to find one.
And I've tried to boot from an USB HDD with the Hazard image disk restored on it, but nothing happens, do you know if it's possible to boot and install OS X with an USB HDD ?

Default Argument to install Server from mount .img

    hello guys,

what is the argument we use to install OS X server from this .img file? when we boot from usb it shows option to install OS X Server. But if we mount this .img, we can't get that option, by running OSXInstall.mpkg. Just curious.

    TIA.
