Hanging on Boot - iDeneb 1.4 (10.5)
Howdy everyone, I'm new around here and have been trying to install OSX86 to...moderate avail. I have been able to install, but that's as far as I have been able to get.
My specs are as follows:
AMD Opteron x2 165 socket 939 processor
Gigabyte GA-K8N-PRO-SLI (nforce 4 chipset)
Creative Audigy 2 ZS sound card
Nvidia 8800gts 320mb graphics card
I have 3 hard drives, two IDE and one SATA. On the first IDE drive I have an installation of Windows XP Home SP2. The other two drives are storage.
I repartitioned my first IDE drive to make room for the OSX86 install and currently dual booting seems to be working fine, I'm typing this from my XP installation.
I customized the installation using the following options:
-Audio (Creative Soundblaster)
-Kernel (Voodoo 9.5)
When booting OSX with the -v flag I get the "waiting for root device" error that seems so prevalent.
I have confirmation from the 10.4.1 HCL that someone was able to successfully install and boot some form of osx86 using my motherboard's chipset. I don't know how this translates into distros as the person didn't list their distro.
Lots of forum searching come up with tons of conflicting advice and I'm having a huge amount of trouble trying to sort through it all.
Was wondering if anyone could help shed some light on my situation, would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
No insight? That's kinda silly, was I not giving enough information? Help me help you help me.
