Post [Hackint0sh 10.5.x Compatibility Database Template]

Before opening a topic for help, read this topic, will be useful for all, provided that we all work together.

(Excuse me for some errors in writing, I speak Brazilian portuguese, but not very well English.)

I am launching this template to facilitate the lives of many (and ours too). So if you are running 10.5 which version is there for, read below and help us build a database complete, so the forum will be more organized, and most readers happy to access data faster.

If they have doubts about the use of the template, or any matter outside of here concerned, can send private message or email.

I request help of Dense to try make a .app and a DB for this bits or smth to webacess, any idea? any help?

The sessions that are not used, please fill in "N/A"

If you have more than one hardware in the same session, please double the required session

Please join in helping, everyone will benefit.

    Sorry for delay in reply...

    You get infos using:

    Everest, Sandra, CPU-Z (Windows)

Some infos get using System Profiler (OSX)

Manufacturer site and manuals are good too

Talking Hackintosh on a custom built gaming PC

Decided to try to throw a Hackintosh install on my gaming PC:

    OSX Version: 10.5.2

    Builder: Leo4All v3

    Desktop/Laptop: Desktop

    Prebuilt: No

Installation Methods: Installed on a single HD with a preexisting Vista install – dual boot. Vanilla 9.2.2 kernel.

    Mainboard Area
    Manufacturer: Asus
    Model: P5B Premium Vista Edition
    Chipset: Intel P965
    BIOS version: AMIBIOS version 0803
    Revision: 0803
    BIOS options: Default BIOS
    Onboard Audio Chipset: ADI AD1988B
Onboard Audio Patches: Selected ADI1988 during install
Work Line In, Line Out, Mic: Logitech USB headset/mic works
Onboard Network Card/Chipset: “Dual Gigabit/ LAN controllers, both featuring AI NET2 MarvellŪ PCI-E and PCI Gigabit/ LAN controllers” - according to ASUS website
Onboard Network Patches: Selected the Skge during install
    Onboard Network Works: Yes
    SATA Devices: All SATA works
    IDE Devices: None
    RAM: 4GB

    Processor Area
    Manufacturer / Processor Model: Intel Core2Duo E6600
    Velocity: 2.4GHz
Recognized in System Profiler as: Intel Core(TM)2 CPU 6600 @ 2.4GHz
Need Patched AppleSMBIOS.kext: Didn't mess with this option during install

    Video Card Area
    Device connection: PCI Express
    NVIDIA
    Model (chipset): 8800 GTS
    RAM Memory: 640MB
    Manufacturer / ID: EVGA
Patches: Selected Nvidia and Nvinject during install
    QE/CI (Quartz Express/Core Image): Yes
    QLG (Quartz GL): Yes
    Mirror: Unknown
    Dual Screen: Haven't tried
    All resolution avaiable: Yes

    Audio Card Area
    Interface: PCI
    Manufacturer: Creative
    Model: X-Fi Fatal1ty
    Audio Chipset: X-Fi
    Audio Patches: None
Work Line In, Line Out, Mic: Card doesn't work or show up

Just installed it, haven't messed around with it much, but the install went extremely smoothly. Took like 15 minutes for the actual install. Only issue I had was with the dual boot on the same HD as Vista - got a HFS+ error on the disk after the install, but fixed it easily. Now I can dual boot Vista and OS X no problem.

Everything works fine except the video issues. Radeon X800XT Platinum AGP 256MB RAM. So far I have not been able to get QE to work. CI works with Callisto 008 and patched radeon9700GA plugin, with APGART 2.4.6. Video RAM is detected as 128 instead of 256.
USB and Firewire work 100%. Firewire sound works 100%. Nothing in the PCI slots is recognised by profiler, but the Belkin PCI network card works, and the 1394 port on the Audigy 2 card works. Wireless USB keyboard and Microsoft Optical Mouse work 100%. USB 1.1 and 2.0 are both 100% and recognise all devices.
The About screen identifies the correct amout of RAM but the profiler only lists slot 1.
All EIDE and SATA drives are recognised and disk burning works fine.

    Hope it helps.
And when you are dead you will dream of me ...
