Default getting an HFS Partition Error?

I'm trying to install Kalyway leopard 10.5.5 on my HP Pavilion Dv7 1285dx, on a primary 500 GB hard drive which I partitioned using the mac OS x formatter using OS x Journaled, Ive installed kalyway on the drive and it installs fine, says it installs fine, but when I reboot I restart and it just says
HFS+ Partition Error. Ive looked around on how to fix this and Ive learned that you could put the hard drive in a USB case, and access it from there but my laptop doesn't have any slots where you could get into the hard drive so i am basically out of luck there, so is their any other way I could install it without getting this error, Ive tried to be more specific so just tell me if you need anymore information.
