Default Formatting Hard Drive Before Installing?

Well guys, when I boot my system with the Kalyway disc in the dvd drive, it goes right to the install and there is no utilities option anywhere.

Could it be that my version of Kalyway is not good? I downloaded two different versions and they both do the same thing.

Would it be easier if I install a 2nd. hard drive in my system so I would have one for windows and the 2nd. for the OSX?

    Please advise.

    Thanks

    S
