it isn't a kext issue if you get this it normally means that your system is not compatible. Please read up on the Common Question / Issues Thread.

oh
I read somewhere that changing your dvd drive to master and your hdd has slave fixes it... is it true?
-
why don't you try it?
should'nt take long.
FWIW, put them on separate channel ... both master is best (btw, it wouldn't solve your prob.)

I havent tried because I dont know how. One other thing... if it gives me the waiting for device error before it is even installed can I install it on another computer and put it back on mine and then actually pass the device error because it will be installed?
-
OK. here's the deal.
What distro are you using?
Consider iAtkos, IPC, Ideneb, Lawless
If you do not understand master/slave in IDE drives then I don't think this is right for you. With that said, I always encourage people to experiment/play. You can google "how to set IDE master slave" and I am sure you will get tons of hits.
Lastly, you cannot install on another computer and then move it to yours. OSX86 is hardware dependent.
