Error While Trying To Restore Image to USB Flash Drive, MSIWIND Desktop
everytime I try to restore any osx86 image, MSIwindos86, ideneb 1.4, 1.6 images to the usb flash drive(64gig)
I get a error sometimes disc utility is saying that the usb drive got unplugged(it didn't)(sometimes it doesn't do this)
then , it gives me a error:
Restore Failure
Could Not Restore, Permission Denied
does anybody know what I am doing wrong, I am following this guide:
http://www.insanelymac.com/2009/02/m...ller-yourself/
and I have followed many other guides, all with the same result.
It will get tell 6-4 minutes left then freeze, and it will transfer like 2.8 gigs then stop at that minute mark.
I have a windtop ae1900-10sus(the touch screen desktop version)
but it freezes up on the disc, i read somewere to use a usb drive, so let me know what i need to do, thank you guys, i have a macbook to, and one other hackintosh, but im still pretty noobish when it comes to the install factors, cuz i did my hackintosh install along time ago, and forgots all the stuff, but right now i just need help with the usb drive
I heard that you can update the motherboard bios to get a cd to boot( I am pretty sure they were talking about the desktop windtops) but Iv checked, and checked, for weeks, I can't find any bios updates, and the bios on there are pretty water'd down, not much I can change on it.
I even tried carbon copy cloner, paused around the same place.
I do the 1 partition, with the extended(journaled), and I select the windows boot thing, I have tried the top one to, the guid one or w/e its called.
I went n tried another guide to unlock the usb drive:
http://forums.macosxhints.com/showth......4391&page=6
so i tried what this guy said
"your external drive has no permissions for "owner".
To fix this, copy & paste the following command into a Terminal window, then press Return. You will be asked for your password.
sudo chmod u+rwx "/Volumes/Dans 300G HD"
That should fix it immediately - no need to log out or anything. "
i tried that with the named changed to my drive n stuff, asked for my pass, did all that, and it didnt work, like before
it hangs with 6 minutes left, then says,Restore Failure Could not restore - permission denied.
Iv tried to restore the image on my other hackintosh, and on my macbook, no good, my hackintosh just freezes up, my macbook gives me that other error i said in the orig post
I have searched everywere, google, all the osx86 forums, nothing, iv spent all my freetime on it for weeks, I mean my first hackintosh install was a bia, but this one is on a whole new level, and the funny this is this is on a intel based pc, the hackintosh i got working is amd, u would think id be easyer.
so if anybody can help id greatly appreciate it, somebody has had to have this problem before, not just me
Thanks guys, i trust ill get help on this forum, this is always been a good community

restore failure
I have partitioned my thumb drive per the instructions from Buildahackintosh. com official how to guide. when I get to the step where I restore the Mac OS X.dmg image to the thumb drive, I get an error message that says "Restore Failure could not find any scan information. The source image needs to be imagescanned before it can be restored." Does anyone know how to workaround this?
