Default Which distro is best for me?!?

Hi, I've decided that I've had enough with Windows Vista and its buggy support and want to install OS X. I've been reading lots on the install methods so I'm sure that I'll be fine there. My only concern is the distro that I should use. Here are my computer specs:

    CPU: Celeron D
    Memory: 2 x 512 Kingston PC3200
    Mainboard: ECS P4M800-M V2
    Sound: Realtek ALC655
    Ethernet: VIA VT6103L
    Video: BFG 5500OC AGP
    HD: WD 160GB IDE HD

I realize that I might have to swap out the IDE hard drive with a SATA one to make the install work. Before anyone comments on my system, I'm poor .

Haha, it's an Nvidia 5500 AGP. Sorry for the confusion, BFG is the manufacturer. Here's a link to the card. BFG Tech - BFG NVIDIA GeForce 5500 OC 265MB AGP

After doing a little bit of research, the FX5500 is just a revamped FX5200. They share the same cores, have similar clock speeds, etc. Based on my recollection, I think that the FX5200 works in Leopard, correct?

I'm thinking that I'm going to install iPC because it is the latest version of Leopard. However, while looking at the release information on the iPC website, I can't find any support for my sound. Can I just use AC97?

The same can be said for my network drivers. Which one should I go with?

I think I'm going to keep a log on everything that I'm doing. It might help some people down the road and save icchansan some time . This is my first time so please bear with me.

    I am using iPC.

    Chipset: VIA/SiS/Marvell/SB Chipset Drivers
    GFX: NVinject 0.2.1 256MB VRAM
Network: ViaRhine.kext found at Welcome to pinxue's home page - Via Rhine Driver for Mac OS X86!

Btw, I've been trying to find out more information on AGPGart but I can't seem to find what it does. I'm guessing I need it since I'm running an AGP video card?
