    Wink so far so good

well, after many research and findings and tries, i finally installed the ipc osx86 10.5.6 on my T42... but still working on three big issues: VGA, Ethernet, and Wireless
a 4th issue which i will be willing to work on is the power management as it is the least of my concerns...

anyhow, i am willing to write a complete guide on how to fully install it on a T42 system with some explanations (which might help others to install on different systems) after fixing my 4 issues mentioned above...

    Default IBM T42 Problems

Hello - I was wondering how it was going for you as far as your T42 laptop? I have one myself and am having trouble with installing the iPC on there as well. After the install it just continues to reboot over and over again.

Would you be able to post here what options you chose during the install at all? Or provide any helpful hints?

    Thanks!

yeah, i'd be really interested, too. i have the same laptop, and everything beside this video issue and sleep works. i've found a guide to manually tweak the radeon 7500 pack floating around, and according to system profiler, all the extensions (proper versions of them) load, but alas, i still have no qe. might be because of the opengl.framework, which i couldn't install on leopard (i'm on xxx 10.5.6).

what should i do? considering it's a really old laptop, and eventually i'll buy a new one, i'd be willing to downgrade to tiger, but i'm worried about the ps2 drivers and power management.

anyway, do you (or anybody) have any updates on this?
