I'm a complete Mac newb and I'm looking to learn a bit about it. First off, I know I have a horrible computer to install Leo on. However, it's all I have at the moment. That being said... as soon as I started the installation it crashes my computer. I have bios version 1.4.1 on my mobo, and even if I turn raid off I don't load the installer. I have a similar problem with Windows XP blue screening if I don't load the raid drivers.

That said, I can't set my bios to load my mobo in compatibility mode. Anyone know how to load the correct drivers onto the Bootdisk for this?

Moreover... if I were to get past this I foresee several driver complications, I have a Creative (cry) SoundBlaster X-Fi, my computer was reluctant to include onboard sound. I also have an nVidia 9800 GTX, which I'd like to find drivers for.

That being said, any sound card recommendations? I'm looking to replace my crappy creative card soon.

Can you please posr your full specs? whats your mobo chipset? did you check the HCL?

Dell XPS 710 - Intel Core 2 6600, 4 GB RAM (4x1024), nVidia nForce Serial ATA Controller (No compatability mode), nVidia GeForce 8800 GTX, Creative SoundBlaster X-Fi, it's a dell motherboard ith an nVidia Bus controller, I am unable to find any other specifications for that motherboard, I believe it's proprietary to dell.
