Dell d820 Black Screen Restart
Hi all - I searched through countless posts looking for an answer to my problems but couldnt find one that was related to this specifically. Im competent with computers but a n00b by most of this site's standards...so
im installing osx86 on a dell latitude d820 using iDeneb v 1.4 (10.5.6). here's the specs
Chipet: Intel 945GM (Intel), 945PM (NVIDIA)
Processor: Intel Core Duo (533 MHz FSB), Core 2 Duo (667 MHz FSB)
Mem Architecture: 1.8 V DDR2 SDRAM
Mem Module Socket: two user-accessible DDR2 SDRAM sockets
Max Mem: 4096 MB*
Mem CLock Speed: 667 MHz
Vid Type: Intel UMA integrated (945GM), NVIDIA discrete (945PM)
Vid COntroller: Intel GMA 950 (Intel), NVIDIA Quadro NVS 120 (NVIDIA)
Vid. Memory: 8-224 MB (Intel), 256 MB (NVIDIA)
Audio Controller: Sigmatel 9200
Netowrk Card: Wired: Broadcom 57xx Gigabit Integrated Controller
Wireless: Intel 3945 802.11 a/b/g, Dell 1490 802.11 a/b/g
Display Type: WXGA WSXGA+ WUXGA+
Max Resolutions: 1280x800, 1680x1050, 1920x1200
when customizing the install I've accounted for the chipset and mem speed, audio & network, & the Intel Vid contoller. The NVidia Quadro option is not avail and I have been previously instructed to select NDarwin. The 256 memory option is also accounted for.
Darwin boots normally but right before launching osx I get the following messages:
bad sleeperimage header signature
after I get the grey apple loading screen, followed by a flicker of the light blue screen, then black screen. as some others have mentioned the black appears to still be "on" or lit but unusable. on another blog a guy suggested unplugging & closing the laptop and waiting about 20 mins. i tried this and when i reopened i had the first osx registration screen but it was covered by the dk grey box saying "you must restart your computer" in 20 different languages. ive reinstalled and restarted countless times.
anyone have ideas of what's (or what Im doing) wrong and how to fix? Any adivce is much appreicated.
