Default Confused about installation? Reboot loop

I have been trying to install for a while now, with no luck. I've tried multiple distos, currently trying Leo4allv3, and tried Kalyway's as well.

Basically, what I'm seeing is, I put in my disk and boot. I get to the Darwin screen, and hit enter (or -v, or -v -x) and stuff starts happening.

Then, the machine suddenly resets. VERY suddenly, with no error messages of any kind. I have no time to see what it fails on, but it seems to be the same place.

    Am I doing something wrong?

It's a Toshiba Satellite M305D, unfortunately looking at the HCL I didn't see anything about that model, but there were some close models.

I tried another distro with different results. iPC seems to give me an actual apple logo, but it's been sitting there for like an hour. I'll try again with -v to see wtf is going on this time. iPC has not caused a reboot loop.

Okay, using iPC and using -v I get "Still waiting for root device", which according to the FAQ means that I can't get this to work?

Just the three mentioned - iPC, Kalyway's, and Leo.

Kaly and Leo were the ones that would just loop - no apple logo, no error, just loop. iPC waits for root device.

not sure if this will help you but i have managed to install 10.5.1 on this laptop and update it to 10.5.6.

you MUST use Zeph's OS X 10.5.1 dvd if you want to dual boot make sure to follow the normal install tutorials ect... also expect 2 to 2.5 hours to install just that.

I'm not sure if its worth even spending the time to do it since even if you do manage to get it installed and updated then you will only have very basic use from it. I can get the eithernet to work with certin .kext's that can be found on the insanelymac fourms just search for Marvell Yukon 88E8040T. The athros WIFI will not work i have tried updating it and installing the drivers in every kernal that will boot and every patch that will install. Somepeople have managed to rarely get it to work in 10.5.5 but just getting the laptop to boot into that version is a lot of work. You will be stuck in 1024x768 mode with hardly any support. Also make sure to have a USB keyboard and mouse onhand to do the install since once you boot up you wont have any support for the touch pad and keyboard.
