I'll jump straight to he point, as the thread title suggests I'm quite confused at OSX86 but also very excited about it my main problem lies in not knowing where to quite start, the various guides and tutorials look all well and good and seem great but picking one, the different 'distros' etc can be confusing for someone new to the OSX86 scene.

Firstly here are my current PCs specs, probably the worst combination of hardware for a hackintosh but hey thats what I got and if its not possible then at least I know now rather than wasting my time!

OS:Windows 7 Professional 32-bit
Processor: AMD Phenom 9750 Quad-Core ~2.4GHz
MOBO: GA-MA790X-DS4
Graphics: ATi Radeon HD 4850 763 MB
Memory: 1024MB Ram <-- low I know, but one of my other ones died, getting more
Hard Disk: Loads of space
DVD R/RW: Yep!
BIOS: Award Modular BIOS v6.00PG

Ok, what I'm really looking for is if something in particular in my hardware that will actually stop me installing OSX86 would be great, I know about HCL just wondering if there is a major problem relating to my hardware other than I've almost got nothing in common with an Mac!

Secondly I've already had a go at trying to install a OSX86 distro - iPC OSx86 Leopard 10.5.6 that i seemed to be a good bet, started the installation etc but before it finished got stuck at "Still waiting for root device" which most posts i found suggest incompatibility but as I said before very confusing.

If there is nothing hugely wrong with my hardware that drivers can't 'solve' then could someone point me at a particularly good tutorial/guide that would 'work' best with my setup? if thats at all possible.

I would really love to be able to dual boot Windows 7 and OSX, would be great just confusing!
