Default Computer restarts before installation can begin

Hello, I'm trying to install iAtkos v5i onto my computer; these are my specs:

    Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo CPU E8400 @ 3.00GHz
    Memory: 5GB DDR2
Hard Drive: Hitachi Deskstar 320 GB
Video Card: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 260
    Motherboard: ASUS P5Q PRO

It will go up to where it asks to either press enter or F8. When I press enter, the Apple screen will appear for about a split second and the computer will reset. Likewise when I press F8 and use -v it will reset but I cannot read what (if any) error message pops up. Any help at all would be really appreciated. Thanks

Okay, I managed to fix this by flashing the bios. Now it doesn't reset anymore, but it gives me a "still waiting root device" error when I try and load the iAtkos DVD. Does anyone have an idea how to fix this?

    Hi,

Try to fix with boot option : cpus=1
It corrects the same issue for me on nec versa s970.

    Thanks.

Thanks for the reply, but this didn't work. I've also tried changing the settings in the BIOS to AHCI, but doesn't seem to fix it. I just finished downloading iDeneb so I will try that as soon as I can get a blank DVD.
