If is a IDE HDD, may sure is set as master with the jumper and no cable select, and your DVD drive have to be slave if you can use another IDE cable do it...

I have two cables one for HD's one for DVD's I've tried several HD's already, all set to Master.

Guess, I'll have to look for a different distro..

did you have any luck? i'm having exactly the same issue's. got the same chipset as your hardware, the rest is different though.

Nope, gave up and bought a MAC .. Actually a MacBook and Mac-mini

I got it to load on a Thinkcentre M50. With a plain ole IDE hard drive (40gig/7200rpm).

Kalyway 10.5.2. "modbinkernel"
Onboard video card.
2gb ram. (but it also runs with 1gb ram as well)
Samsung DVD writer (secondary IDE slot)

Only hardware mod I've done after the initial install was to install a 2nd IDE hard drive(40gig/7200rpm). Running as slave on same Primary cable as Master Drive.

Took a week to Google and figure out correct Kernel since I'm not used to using Macs "AT_ALL"!!! I'm not home but off the top of my head, I don't recall doing any BIOS mods. I've been using it for a month now and it works great except for one issue. The front and rear USB ports do not work all of the time for some reason.

I'm a PC guy, so this is totally new, and fun, for me. I use it for audio recording with Logic Pro 8. Even got the PCI slot to work with a Delta1010 card using a modified driver (Enya24 driver?? - not home, can't give exact info yet). Video is fine as well. Watch "24" from the internet weekly.

I really don't 100% understand every last thing I am doing yet, but I take notes and study as much as I can so I can get used to using a Mac/Hack. If I get the time, I'll post pics and any info I forgot to mention.

I'm having the same problem, with nearly every kalyway release and ipc. The latest ideneb v1.4 loads straight into install, but once installed, upon reboot, hangs on the apple logo.Tried everything and am about to give up.
