    Exclamation cannot start apple mac OSX after installation :(

    ok on a desktop machine, the running OS is windowsXP 2005 media edition, i have a copy of mac, OSX and have installed it onto a spare hardrive that ive got. it all installed fine, now i want to start it but when i select the option, boot from IDE harddrive it says press F1 to start, i press F1, screen goes black for a sec then the computer restarts
    any ideas how to start?

    spam F8 key to get to the darwin boot prompt. type cpus=1 -v <then enter key>

    post back with results

    tried pressing F8, all that dopes it goes to a screen where i can select safe mode and stuff like that for my wndows XP
    when i press F12 i can choose harddrive, when i select IDE HDD and then type 'cpus=1 -v <then enter key>', it comes up with white screen with spinning apple circle and then computer shuts down
