Also google Slashack's AppleNForceATA.kext to support 4+ GB RAM. You'll need it later
I myself use nForce 650i and with iATKOS v7 it's fairly smooth install. I can share you my experience based on my chipset.
Get yourself USB keyboard and mouse, some report that they can use PS2 but many don't, to play safe use USB ones. You can install respective driver later. Your RAM is 8GB, you must boot with maxmem=2048. If you can't boot to DVD Installer then try maxmem=2048 cpus=1.
When you manage to get to Installation Window, I suggest you choose as minimal as you can so long it can get you to desktop.
- iATKOS Main system.
- Bootloader: Chameleon v2
- /Extra directory
- DSDT (I don't select this but if you have to use cpus=1 to boot DVD use it.
- Decrypters: Appledecrypt
- Kernels: 9.7.0 Voodoo kernel.
- Disabler
- OHR
- System: SATA/IDE drivers: AppleNForceATA
- USB
- Post-Install Actions
I don't know if you have a IDE or SATA hard drive, mine is SATA and I use USB External Drive. If you have IDE read 2 first links above I gave you carefully.
If installation succeed, Restart your machine. When Chameleon bootloader appear press F8 and type maxmem=2048. If you get Kernel Panic then try with maxmem=2048 cpus=1. If you can get to desktop, well, basically you succeed.
Hope this give you little help.
