Bootloader and cloning questions
Ok so now I have iDeneb 1.4 running on my PC. Here are the basic specs:
CPU: Intel Quad Core 2.6 GHz (Q6600)
Motherboard: Intel DG35EC
Memory: 2GB DDR2 667
Video card: nVidia Geforce 8600GT 512MB PCIe
Hard Drive: 250GB Seagate SATAII
DVDRW: Samsung SATAII
I really only have two issues:
I used the tutorial by slipttees to install. I can use the Boot-132 CD to boot from then hit Enter > 80 > Enter and it will boot to my hard drive. Everything runs great! However, if I try to install Chameleon 1.1 per the instructions my hard drive become un-bootable by any means.
Since I'm a total n00b at the Mac thing I have no idea how to uninstall it if I can't boot into OSx I end up wiping it and reinstalling the whole thing over. I have done this so many times now I am a pro at that part
Is there any bootloader that will work well with my setup? I really, really, really don't want to reinstall again. I have already moved some files over and installed a program or two and it would make me very sad to have to do that again.
I want to make a disk image of my hard drive just like it is so if I mess it up again I can just clone it back over. I started to use Ghost 11.5 but it wanted to clone the ENTIRE partition like it was 232GB of data and it was going to take almost 9 hours!!! Then I tried Acronis and it just said NO not going to happen. It kept saying the destination drive was too small even though it is a brand new identical hard drive. Is there a program that you guys recommend for cloning a mac hard drive that won't take half a day to copy?
Thanks for all the help!
