Booting from a harddrive partition?
I've scoured the internet for days, and still can't find a solution.
I have a Leopard OSX 10.5.6 DMG file, a laptop dual booting Linux and Vista, a tower booting Vista and a 620GB WD external hard drive. I have no blank CDs, and from what I've been reading I should be able to make do with what I have.
I want to create a bootable partition on the external hardrive, but I haven't been able to. I want to boot a partition containing the actual DMG (X: drive, the installer), to install Leopard. I will target another partition on my harddrive (Y: drive) to install it to. Then I want to be able to boot from the Y: partition so I can run Leopard off the USB device.
Any help would be LOVED. Because this is doing my head in. Thanks.
