Black screen on boot (10.5.6)
Hi all,
After a successful installation of ideneb 1.4, I get a black screen when booting from hd. I tried default kernel and voodoo kernel in combination with the 3 different drivers for nvidia but i always get a black screen with a spinning cursor.
My rig:
Asus p5n32-sli deluxe (nforce 4)
geforce 7600 GS 512MB (x2 but i removed 1 card from my system)
usb keyboard and mouse.
removed sata drives from rig and working on 1 pata (ide) drive
when boot in safemode (-x) it seems to work but i would like to have it working in normal mode
When i try to boot in verbose mode, everything runs as normal but when i should get the logonscreen i get a black screen. (sometimes i first get a blue screen but immediately followed by a black screen)
tnx
Is there a way to see what the problem is or does anyone have some advice for me?

I tried every other kernel available in the setup. But all give me the same problem (black screen).
Is there a way to determine what causes this black screen? (eg log all lines at startup (what you see when you type -v) and compare them with the safemode version)
tnx,

ok, i got a little bit further last night. It seems that if i select smbios for ddr2 my screen stays blue (and doesn't turn black) but the system hangs anyway.
Which smbios should i select for my mb (P5N32 sli deluxe (not p5n32-e)ASUSTeK Computer Inc.)
tnx
