Asus P5QL Pro - What Distribution?
Okay well, before i built my new rig I had OSX86 installed on my laptop; from a Kalyway DVD. Well now i would like to dual boot on my new rig, I have three partitions made, one for Vista, one for OSX, and one to share data between operating systems. I have tried many different releases, such as iAtkos 5i, JaS 10.5, Kalyway, and Leo4allv3 but none of them seem to work. I cannot reach the install screen in any of them. Before, I thought it was because I have an IDE DVD drive. But I purchased a new SATA drive and it still won't work. Here are my specs, and any help is greatly appreciated.
Asus P5QL Pro
Intel Core 2 Duo 2.4
4gb DDR2 RAM
Geforce 9500 512mb
160gb Seagate HD-SATA
LG DVD burner-IDE
Asus DVD drive-SATA
-thanks guys

I would think IDE would be even simpler to get working than SATA. I have been told that it depends very much on your chipset whether a release will work. I have an AMD CPU and an nForce chipset, and I can get through the install phase of almost any distribution, but rebooting and booting up the OSX partition is a different story ... I'm still looking for one that works properly for my system. But I would search for osx86 and whatever chipset your motherboard uses, and see if any releases return any promising advice.

Hiya there, you have 2 choices:
1- MOD your BIOS to get working the system with full cores and will run any distro after MOD.
2- Install retail with 132 bootloader using DSDT Patch
Here is your BIOS MOD.
And check here to read about how to install retail
Good luck and SATA ftw

Hi there I was wondering if you could help me out, for so long i have been trying to find out how to get osx on my P5QL PRO and stumble upon this forum
Is there a guide somewhere or could you tell me exactly what you mean with you second choice
I want to install from retail but have no idea what choice 2 means (install retail with 132 bootloader using DSDT patch), if I had a step by step guide for it I'm sure I could figure it out
Thank you very much
