Asus Eee 1000 HE
I am thinking about getting my first Netbook, but i am not a big fan of windows these days. Is there anyway to put OSX on this netbook or will i be coming across problems with it?
Thanks in advance to those who help me out!!!!

thanks
Appreciate the post but thats not what i am looking for. I am asking if the new model 1000HE can have OSX installed on it. 1000 HE is brand new, it came out like 2 weeks ago maybe only a week. It is intel based so i would assume it is but thats why i am asking for help

Be patient my young Padawan. As you say yourself the 100HE only came out about a week ago. Not too many people have gotten one of these yet, and most of those are Windows users who are not interested in OS X.
In a few weeks time, when the 1000HE has been out a bit longer, all will be revealed.
Just relax, ... or just get one yourself and have a go at it, and let us know what you learned.

some level of success on the 1000HE
hi everyone .. i've got a 1000he i've been tinkering with in the hopes of getting a dual boot osx / ubuntu installation working.
so far i am happy to report a VERY LIMITED level of success .. i did the full ideneb 1.3 install by the full technique you'll find on the other tutorials specific to the HE .. then i went through all the stuff on the top of this site, and am very happy to report that the current status of it was last night when i set it to do the software update, it had gone to sleep on it's own this morning and was waiting for the installs to get installed .. it went through the install SEMI successfully as right now it's running showing 10.5.6 in the 'about this m@c' ... which is great, because otherwise it wouldn't make it through the startup with 10.5.6 .. i should also mention that it doesn't know anything about it's keyboard, or it's trackpad .. which are indeed issues to fix .. i'll keep at it and see if i can post the details, but for now this is the process ..
ideneb 1.3 through the full tutorial ..
DSDT ..
chameleon 2.0 install ..
self-updates through the web (ethernet only so far)
if a few others keep working on this process with some tinkering perhaps we can get to the point where this thing is working with OSX
keep at it !

ipis OS X: a wiki community for OS X on the Asus Eee PC is kinda the home for putting osx on the eeepc, might take awhile to get the answers you want tho
Get the latest info for NoAccSplash
Here
Currently it should work on iOS 4.x - 6.x

If you'd like to help extend its functionality, the source is also available.
