Default Anyone try installing OSX on Gateway LT2005u netbook? Bestbuy $229

I just bought one of these 6 cell Gateway netbooks from Best Buy. Couldn't refuse the super deal - $229 special this week.

However, I can't find any information on installing OSX on any gateways - much less the one I got - the LT2005u

Before opening up the box, anyone have clues?? What I need the netbook to do is surf on 802.11g & use the webcam for skype.

    Here are the specs
    Intel® Atom™ processor N270
    1GB DDR2 memory
    10.1" WSVGA LED-Backlit Display
160GB Serial ATA hard drive (5400 rpm)
    Intel® 945 Express Chipset
    Intel® Graphics Media Accelerator 950
    Built-in webcam with microphone
    Multi-Gesture Touchpad
    3 high-speed USB 2.0 ports
    Built-in 802.11b/g wireless LAN
    Built-in 10/100 Ethernet LAN

Any help would be greatly appreciated

i just bought one! its a pretty nice net book.but maybe a bit slow...
i think i might try to get osx the info on the acer one should work since its the same laptop just a different name. acer makes gateway...
just gotta check to see the model on the acer and hopeuflly those instructions work. but last i've seen the acer one wasn't working all that good with osx. but hopefully the kinks have been worked out and atom support hack is working!

from what i've found with the acer one a150(acer equivalent) it works and theres a few tutorals out.
but sound switchin from headphones to speakers is not automatic.
    sd slot wont work.
and the wifi wont work unless you change the wireless card.

so to me thats a deal breaker i have to spend more $ on a wireless card and i lose my sd slot so i don't think i'll be trying it.

    if you want to google
osx on acer aspire one a150
and you should find plenty of instructions.

    Thumbs up

UPDATE: INSTALLED iDENEB 1.3 and it works good (using settings below). Still no sleep and networking. Only networking from USB.

    Hello All,

I have the same netbook all the above (you guys ) have and I'm trying to get iPC 10.5.6 installed. Well, i got it installed. But I guess I'll have to explain the options during customization.

    Unchecked the Language Translations.
Kernels: I don't know which to choose, so I chose: 9.4.0(10.5.4) univeral kernel. from the list (the last one). - WORKS

Video Drivers: no check: ATI, Nvidia, AGP, Natit, LaptopDisplay - Only Intel section - Checked: Intel GMA950 - DID NOT WORK, had to collect other Kexts to get full 1024x600, no more 800x600!!

Installed some Kext Packs from other netbooks with GMA950, and repaired my disk permissions, and got 1024x600 after reboot.

Chipset Drivers: Only checked Intel ICHx SATA Drivers, LegacyAppleIntelPiixATA (no idea if this does matter), JMicronATA & Legacy - Unknown if it really works, how can you tell?

Audio Drivers: I had a failed install because I checked Legacy AppleHDA (don't even do it!), For now I only checked AppleAzaila one = WORKS

Ethernet Drivers: Which one is it? I forgot, so I checked anyways: AppleBCM4400x, Realtek R1000, Skge Marvell Yukon (don't know on this one), nForce Ethernet (for the Marvell 88E1116)
(Update- Check all above, NONE WORKED) - NO Ethernet!

Wireless Drivers: At the moment, since i have the ALFA USB card (for Backtrack 3/4 / WEP testing) I installed the Realtek RTL8187/L driver.
Checked also Broadcom Driver, IO80211Family.kext - INTERNAL WIRELESS DID NOT WORK - TODO: Swap for Dell mini wireless card.

USB: Patched USB Drivers checked - WD 500GB Passport plugs in, right Icon(orange) and it works.

Power Management: Checked ALL - Sleep Does NOT WORK Restarts, and Shutdown works.

Fixes and Patches: Checked IOUSBMassStorage, SATA Drive Icon New, Dual Boot Time Sync(NO NEED), IOPCIFamily.kext patched, Seatbelt.kext 10.5.5 (I opened a DMG and got the Power Down and reset screen every time I opened a DMG, so check this)., Shutdown/Restart, USB Mount (just for the hell of it), PS/2 Device Support

Touchpad is not Scrolling at the moment, it's very sensitive at first also (change sensitivity in Sys Prefs).

Alternate Bootloaders: I have no idea what to use, just have to test between the:
Chameleon with SMBIOS/DSDT - Still gives Apple Logo Boot up
DSDT/Custom Boot Picture - White screen boot up, no Apple Logo. How do you change to give it a custom boot picture?

Applicatons: AppleHDAPatcher, DeepSleep widget, EFI Studio, OSx86 Tools (life saver somewhat), Kext Helper b7 (YOU REALLY NEED THIS!!),
the rest below, you choose whatever you want (Mkext tool). Or you can just check all of it?
