Is there any way it can boot? Even to that funny screen, then just add -s to get to the # root prompt. Which mean whatever boot option you use then add in -s then run those codes.

What boot options did you use? What kernel?

Uhm look, the bug screen appears with normal boot (no writing). If you mean what I installed, I installed chameleon 2 and no voodoo kernel, I don't even know what they are. Also, I am not sure when and where you want me to run the code you gave me.

By the way, by saying "# root prompt" you mean command prompt right?

Yes and you did not even try it yourself yet, just to see? Even if it killed your installation? Put it this way: your installation is of no use anyway without GUI, so would it hurt anything if it is dead?

Boot with -s (or -s -v ) to see if you can get to that # root prompt.

You just like to me repeat my instructions over and over, and that is not good.

I don't want you to repeat your instructions over and over, how did you get there? And of course why would I want you to get pissed in such a sensitive situation, since you are the only guy helping!?

On the topic, I don't understand what you mean. I said I cannot find a command prompt since the lines freeze at some point... Also, do I have to re-install with a voodoo kernel?

If your question is how I know what to help you then the answer is lots of practice and that may not be enough (I have copies of just about every distro release out there). For one of my laptops, there were more than 50+ times and it's not even done yet. I only started it a couple of months ahead of you.

So, there may be 2 issues as the KP and your video bug could come from different sources. Usually video display problem won't cause KP.

If your CPU is Core 2 class then take the vanilla kernel, otherwise use Voodoo.

Is iDeneb 1.6 give you the same video bug? If it did not end with that KP then use it.

You should install/boot it with just the video bug only, not the KP, then reboot using -s option to get to single mode with root prompt to apply those codes.
