AMD HP DV6000 Installation
I finally completed a basic installation of Snow Leopard 10.6.1 but I can't get the OS to recognized my track pad nor keyboard. I have been using an external mouse and keyboard but it's not the setup I had hoped. I don't mind using an external mouse but I can't see the need to have a full sized keyboard attached to a laptop - it simply defeats the purpose. Has anyone properly installed OSX successfully with the tracking pad and keyboard properly functioning? If so, could you please provide the details so I too can enjoy your success. Thanks.
HP DV6000
AMD Athlon X2 1.8 ghz
2 gb RAM
Wireless (gave out years ago)
Ethernet (wired) properly working
USB connections properly working
Sound NOT working
Snow Leopard 10.6.1 (Hazard)

Hi there,
I can fully understand your frustration. Have you try to load the kexts for your mouse and keyboard? I don't have the same model as yours, but on one of mine I have to reload VoodooPS2controller.kext and some other to make it work. That kext also needs an additional apple...PS2Nub to function properly. I don't have the exact name for it, and you could go to kexts.com to download those drivers (should have instruction with it). If you still need the name of these kexts then let me know.
Good luck and hope you will find a solution.

can you post what settings you used during install? i've been trying to install this for months now, and have went through various settings on various distro's with no luck. i have a dv6000 as well, more specifically a dv6809wm.

i need some advice too.. i have tried installing different flavours of the osx86 but the only one which actually went to the installation phase was iDeneb 1.5.1 10.5.7..
i have an HP pavillion dv6602 au:
processor: 1.90 GHz AMD Turion 64 X2 Mobile Technology TL-58
ram : 3GB Kingston DDR2
hard drive : hitachi 160GB
chipset : MCP 67
wifi: Broadcom
audio : Coxenant
video : nvidia GeForce 7150 / nforce 630m
i have 2 major problems:
the disk utility did not detect my hitachi hard drive so i had to install it on my seagate go flex usb hard drive...
the installation was successful using both the voodoo kernel or the Qoops kernel but after restart the screen with the white bg and apple logo and the loading circle hangs after about 4-5 mins...
any help or advice would b appreciated...
